Installing and Registering PocketCache^®+

Installation
For simplicity, please follow the steps listed below:

1. Start up your PC & plug in your USB storage device. If you have not previously used your USB storage device (disk, CD-RW, DVD-RW, flash drive or U3 smart drive) with your PC, you should make sure your computer recognizes and displays the USB device (typically it is shown as your “D” or “E” drive). Most Windows PCs will automatically detect the USB device and will help you ensure the correct driver is installed.
   
2. Download PocketCache+. Prior to installing PocketCache, you will first need to download the software from the Internet onto your PC hard drive and unzip the application. A free, trial version of software PocketCache+ is available for download from this site (www.kadenasystems.com) and the U3 smart drive company at www.u3.com.
   
3. Unzip PocketCache+. Upon downloading the zipped PocketCache+ file, unzip the file. For XP users, it is recommended that you unzip by: (1) right-clicking on your mouse; (2) scroll down to Winzip and select one of the “extract” to folder options; (3) complete the extraction.
   
4. Drop the PocketCache+ folder onto your USB device. Install entire PocketCache+ folder onto your USB storage device by dragging and dropping it onto your USB storage device. Note: PocketCache+ RUNS ON YOUR USB DRIVE, not your PC’s hard disk.
   
5. Open the PocketCache+ folder & startup PocketCache+. Look inside the PocketCache+ folder and find the PocketCache+ icon. Double-click the icon and a wizard will guide you through your first backup. User “Help” is provided in the application. There is no need to register the software until your free trial period expires.

Registration
PocketCache+ registration is designed to be automatic if you have an Internet connection to your computer. Simply press the "register" button on the opening screen, and PocketCache+ will take you to the Kadena purchasing page where your registration number will be inserted automatically into the page.

Manual input of registration number
If, for some reason, the registration number is not inserted automatically, please carefully enter the registration number as shown on the opening screen of PocketCache+. Note: when transcribing the number, there are NO alphabetic “O” characters – please use only the NUMBER "0".

Reinstalling PocketCache+
After installing PocketCache+, you will not be able to copy or move it to another flash drive (registration and purchase are for a single-copy license). If you need to re-install your software, you will need to contact Kadena Technical support by e-mail. We will check your purchasing record and re-issue a registration number.
